Bingo Fans hold Protest in London

Posted under Bingo News by Jamie on Thursday 2 July 2009 at 4:33 pm

Bingo Fans from around theUK have held a protest in London after the government announced another increase in taxes on the already struggling industy.

Large numbers of local halls have struggled to cope with the huge amouts of taxation handed to them by the governement. This coupled with the rise of online gaming sites has resulted in a visitor numbers at halls falling. The smoking ban also forced many to play bingo using internet sites in the comfort of their own home.

Taxes have recently risen from 15 % to 22 %, but this has not been forced on the Casino or Betting industry. Avid bingo fans claim this is a sexist move and have shown their disapproval by staging a protest outside the House’s of Parliment.

The story also reached the BBC 10 0 Clock news yesterday and we wish the protester’s all the best in their campaign!

Ukash – Maximum an Sicherheit für Zahlungen im Internet

Posted under Bingo News by Jamie on Monday 29 June 2009 at 10:07 am

Bingo really keeps the mind Sharp

Posted under Bingo News by Jamie on Monday 18 May 2009 at 3:41 pm

I’ve been playing online bingo for about 18 months now and become a bit of a dab hand at it (even if I do say so myself). Despite learning quite a lot about bingo through reading reviews and the experience I have gained, there really is nothing quite like playing bingo in a land based hall.

Playing at a Gala Bingo hall last week I felt more out of my depth than when I first took up horse riding at the age of 14. Just like then I felt like I was lost, helpless, and pathetic all at once. Those old women and other regulars put me to shame. Scanning through multiple books and dabbing away in furiously quick succession.

It was then I realised their hand-eye coordination and alertness was far superior to mine. Their brains must have been working a mile a minute. Without a doubt bingo keeps your mind sharp, there was no chance of their gray matter turning to mush anytime soon.

Not surprisingly then, I recently read an article that suggested bingo does indeed keep the mind sharp. According to the research members of the old community that played bingo were less likely to develop illnesses like Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Now on when I’m playing online, I think I’ll be taking the auto dabber off.

My Foxy Bingo Review

Posted under Foxy Bingo by Jamie on Thursday 14 May 2009 at 3:24 pm

Just signed up to Foxy to see what all the excitement was about… Have been hearing everyone talking about it and saw an Ad on Teletext, tenner free and I thought why not. WTG!! Sign up was easy had to deposit a tenner to get the free tenner from Foxy but gather that is pretty standard now (gone are the days of the no deposit bingo bonuses). There are lots of rooms where you can play 90 and 75 ball bingo at lots of different ticket values –

I played in Nifty Fifty as it wasn’t as busy as some of the others and the jackpots still good – over 30 quid. All good and fun but then I decided to have a go on the instants – oh dear that’s where you lose your money – put it all on red, then all on black – won both times so put the rest of the balance on red and hey presto I lost! I think that the main attraction of Foxy must be the main events when you can win anything from a grand on Monday to £25,000 on Friday – always at 9 PM.

There’s even a mid week blockbuster – as they call it with a chance to win Take That tickets – now you’re talking. All in all I’d play again at Foxy – but watch what you call yourself… ;there were some unhappy rommies playing today when they noticed 2 donuts playing :-)
