After the lobbying and protests outside of parliament last week to lower land based bingo hall tax rates, the Government has not budged on the issue. 45 more job losses have been announced since the 300 unveiled previously during the week and the closure of bingo halls at Gala Coral. This time headquarters has been hit the most, in particular marketing operations.
The move is to streamline and integrate both land and online aspects of the business in order to save money due to the current economic downturn.

The effects of the redundancies has not yet been felt, however it will more than likely show through more and more as the weeks progress.

Gala Coral will save £10m after this initiative is compete. The company has reported debts of over £2.5 billion and is desperately trying to save money wherever they can.
