The greedy sister lost the case

18th April, 2008

The two sisters who took their third sister to court for not sharing her bingo win with them after they claimed they had a verbal agreement to do so, have won the case and been awarded their share of the money plus interest. Linda Kenny 53, and Doreen Thomas, 57, are two sisters who earlier this week took their third sister Edna Sexton, 59, to court. Mrs. Sexton won £50,000 in June 2007 and despite her agreement with the other two sisters to share all the bingo winnings equally; she decided to keep the money to herself offering £10,000 as a “present of goodwill” to the sisters.

A judge at Chester County Court ruled that Mrs. Saxon was guilty of not following through their verbal agreement to share the winnings, which they three agreed on in 2005.

Two sisters got £17,463 each, which is their share and the interest. It looks like the judges decision couldn’t be carried out, as the two sisters later on stated that Mrs. Saxon has spent the cash and wasn’t able to pay them what court obliged her to.
